Yoon Hye Jung solo exhibtion May 28 (Sat.) to June 19 (Sun), 2011 Artist talk: May 28 (Sat.) 6pm, 2011 Open hour: 11am to 6pm Closed on every Monday       CITY - 낯설게 스쳐가다(Slide unfamiliar)  60,6x91cm  Oil on canvas   2010   CITY - 스쳐가다(Graze))    112x194cm    Oil on canvas    2010 작가노트 이미지들은 시간과 공간 속에 오늘도 끊임없이 변화하며 새로운 이미지들로 가득 채워 간다. 빠른 시간 속에 이미지, 변화 하는 이미지, 새로운 이미지들은 아무런 동요도 없이 매일의 삶 속에 그저 스쳐지나간다. 그러나 어느 날 문득, 그 시간과 공간 속에 이미지들은 순간적인 낯설음으로 멈춰버린다. 빠르게 스쳐 지나가는 이미지들은 마치 누군가 뒤에서 새롭게 잡아당기는 것처럼 그저 시간 속에 순간의 모습처럼 그저 멈추어버린다.… 우리가 살아가고 있는 현대의 도시 공간은 급속도로 빠르게 돌아가고 이러한 삶은 풍요롭고 평온하기까지 하지만, 반복적인 일상과 가속화는 현대인들에게 익숙함과 동시에 단편적이고, 전통적인 가치관에서 이탈시키고 감정적인 여유나 정신적인 풍요로움은 상실되는 것으로 전락해 버렸다. 쉴새 없이 빠르게 돌아가는 현실의 속도감에서 현대사회가 가지게 되는 문제를 생각하기엔 시간적인 여유조차도 없이 지나치지만 현실이 반복됨에 따라 현대인들은 상실감을 경험하게 되고 외롭고 소외된 존재를 인식하게 된다. 이러한 경험은 현실에서 벗어나고자 하는 욕망을 시작으로 새로운 공간에 대한 일탈을 꿈꾸게 하는 것이다. 본 작업은 우리가 살아가는 현대사회의 일상적 삶의 공간에서 빠르게 지나치는 만남과 스침의 관계로부터 느끼는 낯설음에 대한 경험에서부터 시작되었다. 차와 도로, 건물과 사람들 사이로 빠른 흐름들이 넘쳐나는 도시, 도시 속 건물과 풍경의 표정을 포착하는 것은 현대도시의 속도와 변화에 따른 흔적의 기록이다. 작품에서 보여 지는 이미지는 건물이다. 일상적인 도시의 풍경을 매일같이 보며 지나다 보면 그 풍경이 매우 생소하게 느껴지기도 한다. 그건 무엇 때문일까? 세상의 모든 것이 빠르게 돌아가면서 순식간에 잊혀지고 생겨나듯, 도시의 흐름처럼 주위를 둘러싼 모든 것들은 새로움의 충격들로 인해 스쳐 지나가는 잔상이 될 뿐이다. 이러한 낯설음에 대한 감정은 현대 사회에서의 피상적인 관계와 그 속에서 불안정한 존재로서 현실에서 벗어나고자 하는 내면의 감정들을 자극하여 일탈을 꿈꾸게 하였다. 이러한 일상과 일탈에 대한 생각이 작품을 구성하는 주요 모티브이다. 방법적으로 컴퓨터라는 현대적인 기계수단을 통해 리드미컬하게 흔들리고 그 흔들림으로 인한 비현실적인 공간에 드리워지는, 원색의 색채와 같이 현실의 변형이 이루어지고 현재의 풍경과 과거의 풍경의 조합이나, 시․공간의 대립을 주기도 하고 이러한 조합과 변형은 새로운 조화를 불러오며, 익숙한 풍경인 듯, 낯선 풍경을 만든다. 실재와 환영이 시간이 흐르듯, 어딘가로 흘러가듯, 빠져 들어가듯 정지되어 있던 공간을 움직이고 스쳐 지나가며 서로간의 충돌과 그 사이에서의 긴장감을 불러일으키며 이것은 새로운 현실로 일탈을 하는 것만 같다. 또한 대상을 옆으로 흩트려 트린 빠른 붓질의 의도적인 시각장 교란을 통해 화면에선 빠른 속도감 또한 느껴지며 화려한 스펙트럼 속에 갇혀버린 듯한 혼란한 도시 이미지로써 우리들의 일상적 관계와 무심코 지나는 현실의 단면을 낯설게 만나게 한다.        CITY-흘러가다(Flow)  158x260cm Oil on canvas 2009     CITY-낯설게 스쳐가다(Slide unfamiliar) 130x194cm Oil on canvas 2011     CITY-낯설게 스쳐가다(Slide unfamiliar) 33.3x53cm Oil on cavnas 2011 "Sliding sceneries of daily life came to me in unfamiliar way suddenly." Image continuously transform within time and apace even today and fill in new image fully. Image in quick time, transforming image, new image just slide in daily life without any disturbance. But suddenly in one day, image in that time and space stop as something unfamiliar in momentary. Images that slide swiftly, just stop as momentary lmage within the time as someone newly pulls it from the back. Modern urban space where we life ar is circulating at extreme speed, this type of life is contemporary men, it is fragmentary, it deviated from traditional norm and fell into something lost with emotional time and spiritual abundance. Within sense of speed of reality that circulate fast even without rest, there's not even time for thinking about problems of modern society and it is omitted but as reality is repeated contemporary men experience sense of loss and recognize lonely and alienated existence. This experience makes dreaming about departure to a new space as a desire to escape from the reality as its beginning. This work stated from experience of unfamiliarity that felt from fast sliding meeting and flash from living space of daily life of modern society where we are living at. Cars and roads, city where it's full of flows between buildings and people, catching looks of building and scenery in city are record of evidence by speed and transformation of modern cities. The image in this artwork is a building. By looking and passing city's scenery everyday, that scenery seems very unfamiliar. Why is that? As everything in the world circulates fast, forgotten in a moment and created again, everything surrounding the environment like the flow of city will just be after image that will be slide by shock of new things. As in its superficial relationship in modern society and as unstable existence within it, this kind of emotion about unfamiliarity made dreaming about escape by stimulating inner emotions that wants to escape from the reality. These ideas about daily life and escape are main motive that this work is consists of. As a method, through modern machine known as computer, rhythmically shaking and flow over unrealistic space due to its shake, transformation of reality is performed like color of primary color, mixture of current scenery or past scenery, it gives conflict between time and space, this type of mixture and transformation bring new harmony and they make unfamiliar scenery as it is a familiar scenery. As like reality and phantom flow, like it is flowing to somewhere, it moves space that seemed like it was stopped as it fell and it brushes, it makes nervousness between clash of each other and this seems like it's escaping to a new reality.
